If you come here, which you might not due to the poor reviews, please ask for Jeff. He's an awesome server and offers up specials that he likes. I appreciate that. Service was good, food was good and the best part...no lines during tourist season. You probably underestimate the benefit of this in tourist season which is why I will not whine about a slightly overpriced menu. I had the chicken and mushroom Cannelloni. DH had spaghetti and meatballs. Salad is enough for two. Glass of wine and an iced tea...total $50. Did I mention no lines?? Big bar with two large tvs. Outside back bar. Peace out!

Me and my family came here two nights ago and had a horrendous night. The service was slow but that's not even the worse part. I ordered lamb chops which were $36 for the one entree. It came with a tiny amount that was burnt to a crisp. When I sent it back I was told those were the last ones so I would have to order something else. Two of my other relatives had to send their food back too. The second time I ordered I got spaghetti and meatballs which I figured could not be messed up but the meatballs came out tasting like cardboard. This place has fine dining prices but Denny's standards so you might as well go two doors down to Denny's.

I'll make this quick and to the point. Some places just weren't meant to stay in business. As Bill said earlier in his post. When this place goes under, which, unless major changes are made, it will go under, it will be for the better. I ordered Chicken parmigiana and it was mediocre at best. The bread was terrible. The staff was friendly however, they wanted to be there less than me. That says it all.

I am looking at reviews from over a month ago and they are still having all of the same issues. If you are not going to even attempt to correct shortcomings that people have been kind enough to take time out of their busy day to point out and provide feedback, then you are inviting the criticism. I was also part of a large party which would normally lead me to be lenient and forgiving but we have had the reservation and the number of people (25) for a few weeks. Plenty of time to have extra staff if needed and trust me, it was needed. Numerous orders around me and including mine were incorrect. A person at my table had a hot meatball and a stone cold meatball. How does that happen? The checkout process was slow which one could expect with many separate checks but this was more than a proportional delay. Well over 20 minutes from asking for check to getting a receipt. I would say as someone else has that if you want to try this place you should do it quickly. I don't write that many reviews and I do not write bad ones. In this case I feel that anything I can do to either get someone to pay attention to the feedback or hasten the demise is the best thing for all parties involved.

I enjoyed the Gluten Free Spaghetti with Italian Sausage and Marinara. The service was friendly and the owner personally visited our table. We were greeted with an alarming sound as we entered the restaurant, a loud door chime and no hostess at the front desk. There were no drinks or desserts on the menu and had to be read by the server. There were misprints on the large menu and higher than average prices for both food and drinks. The new management seems to be an improvement but the kitchen could be cleaner as it is visible from the main entrance.

Poor. Unfortunately this is not a great neighborhood restaurant. Service was mediocre. But the food was..well, just not good. The Bruschetta tasted as though someone may have accidentally dumped a pound of salt in the mix. Also tried the octopus in a light lemon sauce. Which was a large portion but not a huge fan the sauce was actually overpowering. My husband tried the pizza. Not a fan.

My husband and I dined here this evening with another couple at the high recommendation of the couple's friend. Bread was very tasty. Caesar salad was very good also. The short-coming was the tastiness of my Orecchiette Alla Pugliese. . . served in a red sauce (I am used to this dish prepared with olive oil and garlic) and big chunks of sausage and hard pasta. My husband wasn't too fond of his dish, Pacherri Alla Vongole. He said not enough pasta in the dish. Our server did not offer us coffee or dessert. Another staff member came and took away our drinks at the end of the evening while we just chatting with one another. Not sure I'd go back.

I know this place has some rough reviews. However, I came because they catered our office event. And all I have to say about it are wonderful things!!! Starting with Sayid, Who was our contact and was very courteous and professional with us as we planned our event. We had a party of about 40 people in total and they did a great job providing us with food and managing our drink requests. The servers were on point the entire night. They made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant has a very nice old-school Italian feel to it. Their private party room was clean, spacious and very accommodating for our function. The drinks ordered were made correctly and the food was delicious! I do want to come back to have a sitdown dinner and enjoy the live music. Give it a try.

Found by accident. They should have some signage at the southbound exit off 75. Good find after a long day's drive...Had dinner, was very good and the right flavor for the sauce. The sauce is everything. Had the chicken parm with pasta. (Your choice of pasta) and a very generous piece for the price ($16) my wife enjoyed her eggplant parm dinner (extra veggies instead of the pasta) basket of bread was very good with butter and a plate of oil....and Molly the waitress, was very attentive and helpful. A very good find. Lost the pix I had that were great. You won't be disappointed. Wish people posting the pictures would have a description of the entree, that would help

Great pizza. We had the Bianca with meatballs. Good wine selection in both red and whites. Ambiance is close to Italian. Our server Andrew was friendly and courteous.

This was a bad experience, cracked glass, sticky silverware. Felt like I needed to wash my hands at the table. The food was mediocre. For the quality, prices were high. 6$ for a house wine. Service was not informative. Rather stay home.

The staff is nice. Unfortunately that doesn't win the day: * nobody to greet us at the door * wrong order delivered to the table * mediocre food - at best. The chicken in the soup was actually dry (not sure how that's possible. * after leaving the check it took close to 10 minutes for someone to pick it back up. Another 5 to bring it back to the table sign. * again staff was very friendly but the place only had about ten people - no excuses. Additionally there are little things atmosphere wise you'd think they would address. It still looks and smells like a BBQ place. Carpets can easily be replaced. Get rid of the dear horns. Change from radio to satellite - listening to commercials is annoying while eating.

Pizza was outstanding and the fresh catch fish sandwich today was excellent. Great and pleasant staff. I got to talk with the owner on my first visit and Joe the manager on visit 2. I will be back!

Ok, we went to La Grotta to celebrate a friend's birthday. Most probably the party was larger than expected. We were all seated by the kitchen door so it was noisy. When he first came over to us the waiter complained that people in Naples don't ask for separate checks, they just throw money in a pile in the center of the table. We waited about 30 minutes before the waiter brought us water. We never did get menus of our own, but we passed the two he brought around among the eight people at the table. He'd taken our drink order, and some time after the water arrived he brought us the wrong drinks, announcing the drinks as he dropped them off at the table and left without listening. We found the ladies who had actually ordered the drinks he'd given us -- they were at a different table -- but then it was another 15 minutes before he came back and started to ask people who has ordered some specific kind of wine. No one had. Our friends tried to ask him to give us our drinks but he ignored them. Other friends who had been there almost an hour already asked to order, But he wouldn't take their orders because he was focused on who had ordered the specific kind of wine. .. He was sure it was someone at our table. So, wineless and without having had any chance to order after 45 minutes, we left. It's possible that the food is good. I may try to eat here again, on a different night, without a large group. Maybe the experience will be better. But this should not have happened.

We were traveling through the area and saw LA Grotta from the exit. We walked in through the patio into the bar and were immediately greeted and ushered to the front to the hostess stand. Another server apologized that there would be a 5 minute wait for a table. We were seated and our server took our order promptly. She said it was her first night and that we were her first table. She was very attentive and nice although she was still learning the menu. While we were waiting I checked Yelp and saw all the bad reviews. Upon mention it did smell a little smoky like a smoke house but not in a bad way. I had very tasty lamb which was nicely prepared and seasoned with an option of several interesting sauces. I had the porcini mushroom sauce and it was fabulous. My husband had bronzino with olives, tomato and grapes which was a nice mix of tangy, salty and sweet. The fish was well prepared and delicious. The hamburger for our daughter came with cheese which she didn't like but the staff were apologetic and nice. The burger tasted good. Several staff were very new but it seemed like they were making an effort to provide a fine dining yet family friendly experience which we appreciated. Given its close proximity to many hotels LA grotta is a good option and deserves better reviews than it jas gotten.

Just tried for lunch ordered the Italian sandwich. One with soup One with salad salad came completely soaked in balsamic dressing. The soup was fair per the person that ate it. Sandwiches were to be grilled paninis that were more or less thrown together lunch meat sandwiches that were cold inside without a grilled appearance and cheese not melted. Should have read the reviews before trying. Will definitely not be back.

We went in for dinner last week hoping the reviews were wrong, unfortunately they were right. Right off the bat we stood at the door for five minutes before we were greeted by the owner who seemed rushed and brought us to a table near the open kitchen and dropped our menus and quickly left. The server was nice and took good care of us. The food was not bad but sitting near the kitchen we were able to hear the owner interact with his staff. I can't imagine working for such a rude, even mean person. It gives us reason to believe he is responsible for the huge staff turnover we have heard about. Overall the food was not bad and the service was good but we will not be back due to the owners attitude and the way he berates his staff. I don't recommend contributing to this mans business.

We have been here 3x . Think they have a huge turnover issue. Talked w/ owner. It is his way only. Wait staff having to apologize for the guy who owns the place. I agree w/other reviews cold food made ahead. Predict another turnover in owners very soon. To bad the restaurant has such potential.

Went there tonight for New Years Eve.. We had made reservations after getting an advertisment in the mail, it said 65.00 for New Years Eve.. Champaign and entertainment. So, we called made reservations.. When we got there they sent us to a table and when the waiter came he asked us about our drink order. I orderd a chocolate Martini.. when he brought the drink he said, "Oh I'm sorry they forgot the chocolate syrup in the drink".. I said "It's okay it's New years Eve, I'm assuming it's quite busy, not a problem".. Then he asked us for our order. .when my husband order his meal plus a salad they asked me and I said I would like the salad with the goat cheese. He started to walk away when I said, and my entree will be, he said "I'm sorry I thought the salad was your entree".. Never asked if that was all I wanted to order.. Then when my husbands order came and he had asked for Penne instead of spaghetti, his meal came with spaghetti.. Not to mention after all of this, there was no Champaign and there was no 65.00 meal.. Entertainment?, nothing was even mentioned.. We left and came home to look at the advertisment again thinking we got it all wroing.. The ad said 65.00 New years, Champaign with meal and entertainment please check our website for additonal info. we checked the website, nothing more was said.. Great Food, but won't go back because of deception. Sad could be a great place but no organization..

Have visited LaGrotta several times. The pizza, bruschetta and Calimari are great. However, went back for dinner, I asked for my tuna to be cooked medium, it came our raw. My guest ordered the Osso Bucco special which she said was good, but her potatoes and vegetables were cold. We both had to send our dinners back to be adjusted. Music was playing too loud for conversation. I know they are new and probably still working out the wrinkles so I will give them another try.

way overpriced. i assume they won't be here next year. food was ok but not for price. had the osso bucco (sp). 1/3 fat, not big to begin with. salad was ok, but bland. staff was attentive but not enough to make up for shortcoming in the food.

If you would like to try this place you better visit quickly as I don't imagine it will be here long. Wait staff is less than desirable, we were forgotten for long periods of time and they brought out the wrong food. While waiting for 15 minutes to pay my check the manager promptly came over to the table to run the check and spent the next 10 mins talking to the table next to me. Food is not impressive and the strong smokey BBQ smell would ruin the palette anyways. I would predict a swift exit of this property if they can't get the service, food and decor working in harmony!

Just a great meal from start to finish. Started out with the meatballs and a pizza as an app . Pizza was great! The staff was very attentive and the food was terrific.

Saturday, Sept 5, 2015 It was a dark and rainy night, really! It was! First impression: guy singing at a music machine, a few people dancing. Loud. We were looking for quiet Italian. Got loud instead. If it wasn't for our server who really saved the day, this would be a 2, maybe 1 star review. My date ordered the ravioli and chicken special. She was very happy. Liked it a lot. I ordered the caninoli. I'm not a white sauce type of person at all and the menu made no reference to either red or white sauce. Our server was very gracious when I asked to order something else. My replacement dish was red sauce, linguini and clams. Very good indeed and served with clams in the shell. Not often seen. Again, our server turned our visit into a decent night out. We were charged only for the meals ordered. We gave the server a bonus tip for her customer service. But. We were told there is live music every night. Loud live music. If you're in the mood for this then by all means, go here and enjoy. If your mission is something a little more quiet and romantic and if you want to have conversation with your dinner friends, be warned. Review: 5 stars customer service. 3 stars food quality. 1 star atmosphere.

Beautiful decor but just decided to try a 2nd time, doors locked at 945pm on a Friday night. Just had a long day at the hospital with my mom and wanted to unwind. Apparently this is not the place. Will not visit again. If you decide to try, call first. Because of my mood and finding a locked door this early, I will not be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
